Jon is graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester and the Guildhall School of Music, London. His passion for music was deeply nurtured in his childhood home in Swindon, UK, where music, dance and theatre were paramount. Surrounded by a family of professional musicians and artists, he was profoundly moved by the endless possibilities of both jazz and classical music.
Throughout his career Jon has appeared on the international stage with a diverse range of musicians including Bob Mintzer, Eric Marienthal, Michael Nyman, John Harle, Phil Wilson, Jim Snidero, Andy Scott, Motown's Bobby Taylor and the legendary Louis ‘Moondog’ Hardin. He has played with renowned orchestras including the BBC Philharmonic and the Halle as well as the revolutionary, multi-sax ensemble, the London Saxophonic.

Jon was a founding member of the internationally-acclaimed Apollo Saxophone Quartet, the ensemble that significantly shaped his musical philosophy. Renowned for its excellence and versatility across contemporary classical and jazz genres, the group has been at the forefront of the British contemporary music scene for over 25 years. He also established the Opus Music School in Manchester, UK and has played an integral part of many progressive projects, including Yehudi Menuhin’s “Live Music Now,” a program that took live music to underserved environments such as special needs schools, hospitals for the terminally ill and prisons. In 2009, he formed the band Soul Traders in Hong Kong.
Jon continues to support a variety of live music projects that promote artists in the Hong Kong community and beyond.
